Annual General Meeting 2009

Thursday, 22nd of January 2009.

The third AGM of the Scottish Borders WoodTurners was held in Crailing Village Hall and was attended by twenty-two members. This represented a 110% increase on the original membership in 2007 and a 50% increase on the attendance of the 2008 AGM.

As part of the formal proceedings summary presentations were given by the Chairman, Kenny Morison, the Secretary, Bill Turnbull and the Treasurer, Gavin Innes. All three gave very upbeat summaries, reflecting a small but growing and enthusiastic membership. There were a number of new plans, suggestions for demonstration events and ideas for raising club funds and membership. However, a number of ideas cannot fully be realised until the outcome of the recent Awards for All grant application is decided.

The Committee officers were all re-elected.

As always complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits were served and during this time club members cast their vote for a number of items turned by club members and entered into the AGM's traditional competition.

Many thanks to all club members for spending the time to create items for the AGM competition. Congratulations to the winners and here's to another successful year of turning in 2009.

If this was the first time you have come to an SBWT event we hope you enjoyed it and will come back to another event or a club meeting. Please keep checking this website's home page for latest dates.
